PERSONAL PROFILE

 

Student at UWTSD Swansea, currently studying MDes Automotive Design, hardworking and enthusiastic individual, capable of developing alternative solutions and making solid decisions. Highly motivated approachable individual who is flexible and is able to work individually or as part of a team in a variety of roles.  Keen on pursuing a successful career in the Automotive Industry, design or engineering.

Experience has induced an ability to adhere to deadlines and work in fast pace high pressure environment, with commercial awareness. Experience has developed a clear understanding of factoring in practically and commerciality in the whole design process of all products.

  • Time management and organizational skills, able to stick to deadlines and be able to manage academic work with part time jobs. Positive and reliable;

  • Computer literacy; competent at using PC and MAC, able at using word processing programs, spreadsheets and presentational packages such as PowerPoint;

  • Working knowledge of most automotive design software, to include Autodesk Alias, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator;

  • Mechanically minded with a detailed understanding of the practical impact of design;

  • Contentious and focused, but with a logical approach;

  • Quick to adapt and learn new skills, roles and responsibilities;

  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills, with an eye for detail;

  • Clean driving license;

EXPERIENCE

Mechanical Assistant, 2010

Employer: JWA Automotive [Work experience]

 

 Assisted in the maintenances and repair of a formula Renault race car including being in the pit crew at track testing at Oulton Park, Cheshire.

Also assisted in mechanical work on a Caterham 7.

 

Workshop Assistant, various dates from 2006 to present

Norstone Autos

Assisted in all vehicle maintenance and repairs including full rebuilds.

Work undertaken on all variations of vehicle from off road farm vehicles to prestige sports cars.

 

Sales assistant at the Welsh Motoring Auction, various dates from 2011

Employer: Peter Francis Auctioneers

Responsibilities included, assisting in the setting up of the auctions and assisting during the sale.

 

Apprentice Farrier, 2011 to 2013

Employer: D.Moss - Farrier

Assisted in all aspects, including the design, welding and the manufacture of horse shoes, assisted in the manual handing of the horses and shoe fitting process.

 

Caretaker, Part-Time 2014 to 2016

Employer: E.C.Straiton & Partners Veterinary Hospital

Responsible for the overall maintenance and appearance of the Hospital, which is a multi-site practice.

 

Caseworker, May to September 2015

Employer: Frisby and Co Solicitors

 

Caseworker responsible for producing case papers and spreadsheets for solicitors.

Sales Assistant/ Fitter, June 2016 to present

Employer: Halfords

​

Serving customers within the store and fitting items brought in store, this includes bulbs, batteries, wiper blades and child seats.

 

 

 

Hobbies and interests

  • Clay pigeon shooting

  • Fishing

  • Watching Motorsports including Moto GP, WRC, Dakar Rally, Comp-Safari and many others

  • Off-roading

  • Restoring vintage and modern vehicles including tractors, cars and motorbikes. Resent restorations include a full nut and bolt restoration on a Land rover Series 3, and restoring a 1974 MGB GT.
